Chief of Police of Wendell. B. Morris was appointed as the Chief of Police in April of 2019. Chief Morris began his law enforcement career over twenty-five years ago as a Trooper with the Pennsylvania State Police. Chief Morris retired as a Major with the State Police as the Director of the Bureau of Integrity and Professional Standards.
Chief Morris earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Liberty University. Chief Morris is also a graduate of the 262nd session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
Chief Morris has a diverse law enforcement background rooted in community policing. He is dedicated to the safety of the residents, visitors, and those who do business in Exeter Township.
Lieutenant Steve Schaeffer is the Patrol Division Supervisor. In addition to supervising patrol, Lieutenant Schaeffer also supervises the Office of Professional Standards and Training. Beginning his law enforcement career in 1996, Lieutenant Schaeffer holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Kutztown University and is a graduate of Northwestern University Center for Public Safety School of Police Staff and Command class 450.
Lieutenant Matt Harley is the Administrative Lieutenant Supervisor and oversees the Traffic Safety Unit, Detective Unit, K-9 Unit & Office of Community Affairs. His law enforcement career began in 1995 and joined the Exeter Township Police Department in 2002. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from The Pennsylvania State University.
